The name “Xitang” — which translates to “West Hall” or “Western Courtyard” — evokes the elegant pavilions and tranquil gardens of ancient imperial estates. “Datang Buyecheng” — meaning “Great Tang Night Market City” — nods to the vibrant, lantern-lit bazaars that once thrived under Tang rule. Nestled at No.2089 Ci’en West Road, North Square of Dayan Pagoda, Xitang Hotel stands on sacred ground. Just steps away lies the Big Wild Goose Pagoda — built in 652 AD to house Buddhist scriptures brought from India by the monk Xuanzang. For over 1,300 years, this pagoda has watched over Xi’an, witnessing dynasties rise and fall, wars and peace, silence and celebration.
